Job Opportunity

Description of Work:

  • We are looking for a professional to carry out electrical design activities in E3D/PDMS and Microstation.
  • This includes preparing single line diagrams, block diagrams, interconnection drawings, electrical installation drawings and MTO generation.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for production, modification and review of electrical documents and drawings as per discipline deliverable list.
  • He/she will also review and check 3D model and/or 2D electrical design drawings.
  • In addition, the candidate will assist lead Engineer in establishing the discipline deliverable list & procedures, interface definition and co-ordination.
  • Another key responsibility is defining resources needed to perform the work.
  • The successful candidate will lead a team of electrical designers and carry out assigned tasks with proper quality and scheduled time.
  • He/she must identify external interfaces and supply timely information.
  • Ensuring that the work is carried out to specified QHSE requirements is also essential.
  • Maintaining a positive and safe working environment at work location is another important duty.
  • The candidate must comply without fail with the company code of conduct and always ensure ethical behaviour.
  • Continually upgrading competence level of self is also expected.
  • Finally, the selected candidate should encourage to and always seek improvements to project costs and schedule.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 15 years experience in electrical design and engineering for offshore/onshore oil and gas projects including FPSO, process platforms, HVDC converter platforms is required.
  • Preparation of single line diagrams, electrical layout drawings, cable block diagrams, interconnection diagrams etc. using MicroStation is necessary.
  • Generation of cable tray, lighting and small power, cable & cable gland MTO's is also required.
  • Lighting and small power design, MCT and heat tracing design including generation of isometrics is a must.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree holder in Engineering or its equivalent is necessary.

Other Skills:

  • Proficiency in using PDMS/E3D for modelling of cable ladders, field trays, lighting, and small power equipment is essential.
  • Experience in supporting site teams by resolving site queries/issued is also required.
  • Guiding and mentoring of other designers is a key skill.
  • Revision of new and existing project documentation and drawings is necessary.
  • Quality control assurance and improvement of the discipline work and implementation method is also required.
  • Supporting the lead engineer in meeting project schedules and budgets along with other team members is essential.
  • Ensuring that personnel under his supervision are familiar with applicable project procedures, practices, and special project requirements is also necessary.
  • High level proficiency in using standard 2D drafting tool Microstation/Autocad is required.
  • High level proficiency in using 3D modelling tools PDMS/E3D is also necessary.
  • Experience in using Cabsys, STID and Nodal diagrams will be an advantage.
  • Exposure to/involvement in Yard Fabrication activities is also desirable.
  • Conversant with oil & gas industry standards such as API, IEC etc. is necessary.
