Freelance Reviewer - Cultural Sociology

As a researcher or former researcher, you have the opportunity to contribute to the academic community by performing peer reviews for journals and publishers.

Within this role, transparency and credibility are ensured by disclosing your full name and affiliations with the publishers.

To qualify, you should hold a Doctorate (PhD/MD) or equivalent advanced degree in your subject area and have at least two publications in the last two years.

A comprehensive understanding of research methodologies and ethical principles within your discipline is essential, along with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing manuscript novelty to determine if it contributes new knowledge or insights to the field of study.
  • Evaluating the study design and methodology to ensure they are appropriate, comprehensive, and clearly described for future reproducibility.
  • Conducting thorough literature reviews to verify relevant and up-to-date research citations.
  • Analyzing results and conclusions presented in the manuscript to evaluate significance and clarity of findings.
  • Providing constructive feedback to authors by suggesting improvements or addressing any flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns.
Requirements:
  • Hold a Doctorate (PhD/MD) or equivalent advanced degree in the subject area.
  • At least two publications in the last two years.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
