Job Overview

The successful candidate will oversee the structural steel fabrication process, ensuring timely completion and quality standards are met. This role involves close collaboration with engineers and site teams to address any discrepancies or issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with superintendents and structure engineers to ensure project schedules are followed and up-to-date information is shared.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to resolve drawing and site discrepancies, equipment structural clash checks, and other fabrication-related matters.
  • Supervise and organize activities to guarantee smooth fabrication and construction of structures within the allotted timeframe.
  • Prepare project progress reports in advance of key milestones to ensure effective project management.
  • Review technical drawings and advise the engineering team on any discrepancies before initiating fabrication work.
  • Perform Material Take-Offs (MTO) and update them progressively to maintain control over material procurement and usage.
  • Ensure efficient deployment of personnel to meet product delivery deadlines.
  • Follow up on all fabrication and installation job fit-up, welding, and inspection processes.
  • Evaluate project requirements and scope of work to ensure compliance and proper execution.
  • Manage subcontractor performance according to provided schedules and specifications.
  • Resolve technical problems or issues encountered at the work site.
  • Attend daily toolbox meetings and clearly convey instructions to the team.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Engineering or Marine Offshore equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Marine Shipyard operations involving structure fabrication supervision works or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in managing a workforce of subcontractors/workers in Structure fabrication and installation.
  • Ability to start work immediately or at short notice.
