Vulnerability Management Job

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Vulnerability Management Specialist. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing vulnerability management processes for an enterprise and possess strong technical skills.

About the Job

This is a mid-senior level contract position that requires the incumbent to work closely with cross-functional teams in Production setup mode. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and executing vulnerability management plans, conducting periodic discovery of IT assets, assessing identified vulnerabilities, and collaborating with infrastructure teams for remediation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vulnerability Management Plan:
  • Prepare and execute vulnerability management plans through all phases of the vulnerability management lifecycle.
  • IT Asset Discovery:
  • Conduct periodic discovery of IT assets and ensure identified assets are highlighted to the CMDB owner for appropriate asset tagging.
  • Vulnerability Assessment:
  • Assess identified vulnerabilities and study their risk profiles, impact, and environmental context.
  • Risk Acceptance:
  • Understand false positives reported and technical limitations of the environment, facilitating the process of risk acceptance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams - Windows, Unix, Networks, etc., for remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Vulnerability Dashboard:
  • Maintain a vulnerability dashboard for the scope and submit reports to both technical teams and management.
Requirements
  • 8-10 years of IT experience, 4-7 years of IT security experience, and 4+ years of experience managing vulnerability management processes for an enterprise.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, GIAC Enterprise Vulnerability Assessor (GEVA), or CREST certification highly preferred.
  • Strong technical understanding and experience assessing vulnerabilities and identifying weaknesses in multiple operating system platforms, networks, databases, and application servers.
