Job Overview

The Resident Technical Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the timely execution and quality control of works on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of works, guaranteeing compliance with contract specifications, drawings, allocated timeframe, and other contract documents.
  • Verify all drawings and specifications to ensure adherence to approved plans, reporting discrepancies to the On-Site In-Charge.
  • Monitor the quality of works, materials, and samples delivered to site, taking corrective measures for non-compliance and reporting to the OIC.
  • Prepare defect lists, monitor rectification work progress, and ensure satisfactory resolution of defects.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and specifications for structural elements and critical works.
  • Attend site meetings, progress meetings, QAQC meetings, and coordination meetings, maintaining accurate minutes.
  • Coordinate with main contractors, assist with handing/taking over of completed works by other contractors, and maintain updated records of all works.
  • Carry out building and M&E Services coordination and work with the safety team to maintain maximum safety levels on site.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Civil/Structural discipline from a Polytechnic or equivalent institution.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience as an RTO, with at least 2 years in supervising deep excavation, drainage, pipe jacking, ground improvement, monitoring instrument installation, and data collation.
  • Shift work, including night shifts.
  • Valid 2025 RTO Certification accredited by IES.
