Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Engineering: Develop and implement solar power system designs for residential and commercial projects, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and economic viability.
  • Site Survey and Verification: Conduct site surveys to verify roof layouts and system designs, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations.
  • System Design and Engineering: Design and engineer on-grid and battery energy storage systems, including PV layouts, cable trunking, and cabling routes.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize AutoCAD 2D and PVsyst software to design and engineer solar power systems.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project management teams to verify designs and ensure smooth installation processes.
  • Engineering Support: Provide technical support to project development and management teams as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in solar design software, strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and energy storage, knowledge of local and international codes and standards.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, good communication and teamwork skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in the solar industry or renewable energy sector, previous experience in project management, system design, or solar installation.
Work Environment
  • Location: Work in offices for design and planning, with frequent travel to project sites for installation and inspections.
  • Travel: Frequent travel to project sites may be required, especially for large-scale installations.
  • Working Conditions: Some fieldwork may involve working outdoors, often in varying weather conditions, and can include climbing roofs or accessing elevated areas for solar installations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications: Safety certifications related to construction, electrical work, lifting, and working at height.
