Power Systems Manager

The Power Systems Manager is responsible for the management of the power and electrical services system to ensure safety, reliability, and availability meet regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include managing equipment operation and maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations and legislative requirements, planning and implementing a cost-effective maintenance program, and achieving operational goals for power supply availability and reliability.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and revising work instructions, participating in investigative tasks, and managing repair works. Additionally, they will manage non-executive staff, participate in selection processes, handle disciplinary actions, conduct performance reviews, and provide training and development opportunities.

Liaison with external agencies will also be required on matters pertaining to the power supply system and its equipment. The role involves preparing, evaluating, and overseeing maintenance contracts, procuring necessary tools, spares, and services, ensuring safe work conditions and access, and participating in testing and commissioning of equipment.

Supervising project initiatives and modification tasks, undertaking and managing assigned tasks and projects, and formulating asset management plans are also key aspects of this role.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a degree or diploma in electrical engineering from a recognized university or polytechnic, and preferably have at least 5 years of practical experience in power distribution and electrical services, preferably in a rail transportation environment. Fresh graduates may also apply.
