Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Operations Assistant to join our team at Amara Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Financial Controller in the smooth running of the Accounts Department, ensuring timely preparation of financial reports, and compliance with internal controls requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including forecasting and budgeting, and ensure timely completion of all financial and statistical reports according to predetermined datelines.
  2. Account Reconciliation and Investigation: Ensure all General Ledger accounts are reconciled monthly and material variances investigated.
  3. Accounts Payable and Receivable Management: Review monthly AP and AR Ageing Reports.
  4. Bank Reconciliation and Adjustments: Timely reconciliation of bank accounts and make adjustments on legitimate differences. Any unexplained variances must be promptly investigated and reported.
  5. Financial Affairs Support: Assist the Financial Controller concerning the hotel's financial affairs, preparation of monthly/quarterly financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, and all other related areas.
  6. Journal Entry and Voucher Review: Review all journal entries, vouchers, checks, debit/credit notes, etc.
  7. Payment Voucher Verification: Check payment vouchers and ensure that the payments are supported by invoices and the required supporting.
  8. Inventory Management: Ensure inventories are properly taken and variances with book values are promptly investigated and resolved.
  9. Accounting Department Operations: Assist the Financial Controller in managing the day-to-day operations of the Accounts department, ensure a smooth and effective daily work routine of the Accounting employees.
  10. Employee Supervision and Development: Assist the Financial Controller in the supervision, training, and development of Accounting employees.
  11. Temporary Replacement and Compliance: Ensure temporary replacement is readily available to cover absenteeism due to annual leave, sick leave, etc. and ensure compliance to the hotel's policies and procedures, internal control requirements.
  12. Reporting and Statistics: Co-ordinate the collection and compilation of reports and statistical data required by the management, statistics survey for hotel industry and other statutory board.
  13. Accounting Department Leadership: Attend meetings and take charge of the Accounts department in the absence of the Financial Controller.
  14. Additional Responsibilities: Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with strong financial operations skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as experience with internal controls and financial analysis.
