Pharmacy Service Representative
About the Role:
The Pharmacy Service Representative supports pharmacy operations by processing prescriptions, dispensing medications, and managing inventory. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can maintain accurate records, manage stock levels, and ensure efficient workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist pharmacists in processing medication orders for inpatient and outpatient dispensing, including typing, packing, labeling, and distribution of drug supplies to wards and other hospital departments.
2. Perform billing functions to ensure cost and revenue recovery for all stocks supplied.
3. Assist pharmacists in processing medication orders for sterile and extemporaneous preparations according to USP guidelines.
4. Compound antibiotic infusers, eye drops, syringe preparations, and topical creams according to prescriptions and orders.
5. Maintain, sanitize, and organize clean room equipment according to policies and procedures.
6. Dispense medications under pharmacist supervision.
7. Monitor and maintain inventory stock levels of drugs in areas of work.
8. Receive, unpack, and check deliveries against documents to ensure correct items received are accounted for.
9. Perform stock receipts and issues in FEFO order.
10. Provide quality customer service and support planning and managing unit dose repackaging production.
11. Oversee topping up of medications into Automated Medication Cabinets.
12. Maintain cleanliness of work areas and prepare them for daily operations.
13. Complete any assigned duties by supervisors.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Course.
- Able to commit to shifts.
- Training opportunities available for upgrading.
