Infrastructure Specialist
Role Overview:
The Infrastructure Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the build and maintenance of Virtual Private Cloud related infrastructure within our Data Center. This position is critical to ensuring seamless operations and efficient delivery of services.
This specialist will be responsible for providing professional services to support onsite infrastructure installation, configuration, testing, and break-fix for hardware. Additionally, they will work closely with OEM vendors on physical installation, configuration, testing, and break-fix for hardware.
Key responsibilities include ensuring all hardware for servers, storage, network, and storage are mounted as per design. Furthermore, the Infrastructure Specialist will follow up on cabling and patching requests, collaborate with the DBS team and vendor engineers for onsite troubleshooting, raise necessary processes for DBS change and control for onsite access, and provide physical hands-on support for all server hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support onsite infrastructure installation, configuration, testing, and break-fix for hardware
- Collaborate with OEM vendors on physical installation, configuration, testing, and break-fix for hardware
- Ensure all hardware is mounted as per design
- Follow up on cabling and patching requests
- Collaborate with DBS team and vendor engineers for onsite troubleshooting
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent technical knowledge of server hardware, SAN storage, and networking components (routers & switches). You should also have good trouble shooting skills / detailed oriented with good organizational skills, ability to effectively communicate across multiple teams, multitasking skills, and knowledge on server components, e.g., HDD, CPU, RAM, network, and storage cards.
