Roles & Responsibilities

As a Veterinarian, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality veterinary care and providing an exceptional client experience. You will advocate for pets and their quality of life, build long-term relationships with clients, and contribute to the development and maintenance of the human-pet bond.

  • Deliver exceptional veterinary care to every pet in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Establish trust and confidence with clients through effective preventive care, diagnostic workups, and treatment plans.
  • Advocate for preventive care and wellness plans.
  • Support the veterinary team through daily schedules and caseloads, delegating tasks and improving clinic efficiency.
  • Practice veterinary medicine in compliance with the Animal & Veterinary Service and Mount Pleasant Veterinary Groups' Hospital Code of Conduct and Ethics.
  • Address and resolve client concerns arising from medical care.
  • Collaborate with the clinic team, peers, and leaders to achieve performance metrics.
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethics in all actions and behaviors.
  • Practice evidence-based medicine and preventive care.
  • Perform basic surgeries with appropriate anesthesia, monitoring, and pain management.
  • Educate clients and clinic associates on veterinary care and husbandry.
  • Charge for services rendered and products/prescriptions dispensed.
  • Mentor veterinary student externs and students.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree.
  • Veterinary license in good standing or eligibility for licensure with the applicable veterinary board.
  • Minimum of three years relevant professional veterinarian experience in a pet clinic or hospital environment.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and capable of meeting tight timelines.
  • Attention to details and accuracy with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and respond effectively to ad-hoc requests.
  • Good stakeholder management skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
