Senior Health and Safety Specialist

The role of a Health and Safety Advisor is multifaceted and demanding, requiring an individual with exceptional leadership skills and the ability to operate effectively within a matrix reporting structure.

Key responsibilities include providing specialist HSE business support to minimize risks to colleagues and the business. This involves ensuring hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation are appropriate to the risk, achievable, and effectively implemented.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will be required to use their experience and knowledge to manage complex situations effectively and eliminate harm. They will also need to work collaboratively with other HSE advisors across different countries to ensure consistent safety standards and address local regulatory requirements.

Other key duties include supporting the effective implementation of the Group HSE management system, monitoring HSE performance, and overseeing the closure of corrective actions. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in a numerical related discipline and sufficient practical experience of leading safety, occupational health, and environment.

They should also be able to work effectively within a multicultural environment and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization. Additionally, they should be flexible and results-oriented, with a practical-minded approach and a strong team spirit.

Others:

As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements, maintaining the LR HSE management system, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001. You will also support the investigation of HSE events and make recommendations for corrective action. Furthermore, you will be accountable for reviewing HSE performance and using insights to proactively support continual improvement activities.

Additionally, you will be responsible for mentoring and coaching people leaders in operations to ensure best practice health, safety, and environmental leadership practices are observed.
