Job Opportunity: Assistant Cook

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Assistant Cook. As a key member of the kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, assisting senior cooks with food preparation activities, and adhering to company health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist senior cooks in food preparation, including cleaning, cutting, chopping, and peeling ingredients.
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, adhering to industry hygiene codes and health and safety standards.
  • Wash, disinfect, and store cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Procure and store ingredients and food supplies, ensuring timely availability.
  • Operate various kitchen appliances and instruments, including cutters, knives, mixers, and ovens.
  • Manage inventory, unload supplies, and maintain the storeroom in an organized manner.
  • Participate in programs designed to enhance quality of service and employee productivity.
  • Maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment at all times.
  • Develop new menu items while improving existing ones, focusing on customer satisfaction.
Required Skills:
  • Familiarity with recipes and menu planning.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Experience working in restaurants or food service environments.
  • Ability to cook a variety of dishes, including north Indian cuisine.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including shifts.
