Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join our team in developing an innovative web-based Ship Simulation and Optimisation Software Platform.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in naval architecture and ship hydrodynamics, with experience in programming languages and marine hydrodynamics.

Job Description:

This role involves delivering on an industry innovation research project, working closely with the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI, and research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.

  • Developing naval architecture calculation and ship design tools based on analytical or empirical methods
  • Developing a practical parametric model framework for ship and system design
  • Carrying out naval architecture calculations, stability analysis, resistance estimation, and hydrodynamic analysis
  • Carrying out ship hydrodynamic and CFD simulations
  • Coordinating procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant competence in naval architecture and ship hydrodynamics
  • A degree in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering / Ocean Engineering / Other Relevant Engineering Degree
  • Experience in any programming language
  • Experience in marine hydrodynamics
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to develop naval architecture calculation and ship design tools
  • Ability to carry out ship hydrodynamic simulations
