Cancer Support Specialist

Ain Society seeks a compassionate Cancer Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support services, you will play a vital role in providing care and support for adult cancer patients.
About the Role:The estimated salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description:Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and psycho-social support to adult cancer patients, addressing their unique needs and concerns.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless patient care.
- Link clients with relevant resources, including financial assistance, food, transportation, and medical equipment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to enhance continuity of care.
- Advocate for the needs of cancer patients and promote awareness through community programs and campaigns.
- Document case recordings and maintain accurate records.
- Facilitate support group sessions and provide education on cancer diagnosis, treatment, and side effects.
Requirements:
- Degree in Counselling or Psychology.
- Experience in case management and supporting individuals impacted by illnesses/multiple adversities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to demonstrate warmth and empathy.
- Interest in working with diverse client populations, including those from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required.
