Job Opportunity:

We are seeking qualified professionals to contribute to the quality learning experiences for students with multiple disabilities and autism spectrum disorder, aged from 7 to 18 years.

This role involves working under the guidance of trained educators to support in the curriculum delivery, foster partnerships with parents, and participate in building a more inclusive community involving various stakeholders.

Candidates will receive mentorship and training to take on teaching responsibilities, including potential nomination to complete a sponsored Diploma in Special Education (DISE) offered by the National Institute of Education (NIE).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching Excellence
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan lessons, design activities, and prepare lesson resources for effective teaching and learning.
  • Deliver lessons using evidence-based pedagogy and meaningful activities to meet the educational needs of individual students.
  • Implement appropriate modes of assessment to evaluate student needs and provide suitable feedback and instructional support.
  • Assist teachers in data collection to monitor student progress and write student learning reports.
Student Development
  • Build strong relationships with students by demonstrating care, concern, and encouragement to create a physically, emotionally, and socially-safe environment.
  • Implement positive classroom routines and practices that support student learning and engagement.
  • Assist teachers and allied professionals to implement student behavioural plans and collect data to support interventions.
  • Manage emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns and implement required processes.
Team Collaboration
  • Work with allied professionals and internal stakeholders to plan and execute development strategies for students.
  • Work with family members to support student learning across school, home, and community.
Programme Support
  • Maintain inventories of equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Manage administrative tasks assigned by reporting officer.
  • Work with Advocacy and Community Engagement (ACE) to place and mentor volunteers.
  • Work with People and Culture (PC) team to mentor interns.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Only Singaporeans and Permanent Residents.
  • Possesses a good Diploma or Degree, preferably in a related field, with a strong interest in the special needs community.
