Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Shipping Contract Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting in securing mid to long-term maritime transportation capacity for our company's sales and imports, ensuring that all vessels operate safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

Main Responsibilities
  • Participate in negotiations and execute mid & long-term shipping contracts aligned with our strategic objectives
  • Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions
  • Collaborate with the team to align our contracts with current and emerging shipping regulations (e.g. SOX, GHG), propose and implement commercial solutions and participate in negotiations with shipowners under our Eco Shipping Project
  • Assist in the design and implementation of standardized procedures and processes to enhance contract management, ensure governance and adherence to our internal policies
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Economics, Engineering, Data Science or related disciplines
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in the dry bulk shipping business
  • Understand voyage calculation methods and dry bulk charter parties
  • Experience with Capesize market and iron ore business is preferred
  • Knowledge of shipping systems such as IMOS and SEA is advantageous
  • Proficient in MS Applications, especially Excel. Knowledge of Power BI is advantageous
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good negotiation, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
