Electrical Systems Specialist: A Crucial Role in Infrastructure Projects

The Electrical Systems Specialist plays a pivotal part in designing and implementing electrical systems for building services and infrastructure projects. This position supports both design consultancy and Design & Build models, ensuring seamless collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver accurate and efficient project execution.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Create detailed electrical system designs, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), general layouts, lighting schemes, and cable routing.
  • Perform calculations for voltage drop, short circuit current, and equipment sizing.
  • Develop Bills of Quantities (BQs), technical specifications, and material submissions.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams to integrate M&E systems effectively.
  • Assist in Design & Build projects, ensuring technical compliance and optimization.
  • Support project meetings by presenting designs and responding to design-related queries.
  • Review and update drawings/documents as per QA/QC procedures and client feedback.
  • Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2–6 years of experience in electrical building services design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and electrical calculation tools (e.g., ETAP, Dialux).
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g., IEC, SS, IEEE).
  • Good attention to detail, communication, and coordination skills.
