Anatomic Pathology Operations Director

Role Overview

  • We are seeking a seasoned professional to oversee the strategic development and implementation of Anatomic Pathology services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Centralise AP resources, casemix, and workflows across institutions to enhance oversight, quality control, and clinical collaborations.
  • Collaborate with teams to standardise clinical and operational processes, conduct inter-laboratory audits, and promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Organise, analyse, and present data to support cluster-level strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare, review, and manage service agreements for AP services within the cluster and externally.

Pathology Improvement Initiatives

  • Coordinate facility upgrades and equipment procurement to meet service needs.
  • Work with clinical leads to identify and drive improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, financial evaluations, and cost-benefit analyses to recommend high-value care models.
  • Partner with clinical leads on process reviews, workflow improvements, and adoption of emerging tools and technologies.

Financial Management

  • Review financial performance, business models, expenditures, and savings to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Apply data analytics to forecast growth opportunities, streamline workflows, and optimise resource allocation.
  • Ensure cost-effective use of AI-enabled Digital Pathology platforms.

Compliance and Governance

  • Support harmonisation of workflows and processes while monitoring quality indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and policies, providing secretariat support for audits and accreditation exercises.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in laboratory operations and/or healthcare operations.
  • Strong financial acumen, with proven experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and resource management.
  • Prior experience in biosafety management will be an advantage.
