About this Role
We are seeking an accomplished Legal Counsel to join our entrepreneurial team, providing expert advisory services on a wide range of topics that drive business growth at Circles.Life. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to navigate complex legal issues.
This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with our Head of Legal and cofounders. As the subject matter expert on all legal-related matters, you will be responsible for handling multi-country SaaS agreements, M&A/due diligence, Shareholder agreements/Share Subscription agreements, and more.
You will also contribute to the development of new products, expansion into new markets, and areas of privacy, security, and compliance. This group-level role is based in Singapore and requires a qualified lawyer with a strong background in corporate law.
Key Objectives
- Collaborate with the Head of Legal to build and grow a global legal practice spanning Europe, MENA, SEA, North Asia, and ANZ.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for any legal-related issues.
- Draft and review complex legal documentation.
- Liaise with external law firms to access geography or subject matter expertise.
- Lead M&A, investments, and related work from a legal perspective.
- Provide regulatory and legal advice on various statutory, cross-border, business development, and people-related issues.
- Deliver clear and practical advice that enables business partners/stakeholders to achieve objectives while mitigating legal risk.
- Proactively develop and revise internal policies and workflows to ensure consistency with guidelines.
- Advise on market entry into local markets, including setting up legal entities and managing license applications.
- Assess legal and regulatory risks associated with sales, marketing, public relations, and product development.
- Work with external counsel and manage internal clients on dispute-related matters.
Job Requirements
- Possess a passion for technology businesses and staying updated on the latest developments in the sector.
- Hold at least 4-8 years' post-qualification experience, preferably in the tech/digital space or with relevant corporate, M&A, and/or financial services experience.
- Have knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations applicable to the TMT space.
- Experience handling complex transactional work and contract negotiations.
- Demonstrate expertise and experience in navigating and excelling in highly ambiguous environments.
- Show willingness and flexibility to work with all levels of the organization and roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
- Be qualified to practice law in at least one APAC country and willing to learn new areas of law.
- Prior experience in building up an in-house legal team is preferred but not essential.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, a focus on teamwork, and the ability to foster/manage relationships across multiple departments.
Estimated Salary: SGD $150,000 - SGD $200,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. A competitive salary package will be offered to the right candidate.
