Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Specialist to manage the acquisition of materials and components essential for our operations. This role involves leveraging the MRP system or reorder point system to ensure optimal inventory levels and timely supply to production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Material Acquisition: Oversee the procurement of materials, components, and equipment in alignment with production schedules.
  • Inventory Management: Analyze engineering and production schedules to determine material requirements and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Supplier Performance: Monitor and manage supplier on-time delivery performance and address any issues related to MRB materials and ECO execution.
  • Cost Management: Review pricing strategies and implement measures to minimize rework and expedited freight costs.
  • Production Coordination: Plan, schedule, and oversee the movement of materials throughout the production cycle.
  • Value Optimization: Evaluate cost, schedule, and quality of suppliers to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Risk Mitigation: Work to minimize excess inventory and obsolescence, thereby reducing company risk.
  • Supplier Development: Identify and develop new supply sources as necessary.
  • Performance Evaluation: Participate in the supplier scorecard process to assess cost and delivery performance.
  • Expertise Development: Provide subject matter expertise and assist in the development of necessary processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various functional groups to establish and promote best practices.
  • Training Support: Create training materials and support enhancements to existing systems.
  • User Acceptance Testing: Assist with UAT, system cutover, and issue resolution as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
  • Proficient in SAP and MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in project management and process improvement within purchasing.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain and materials flow concepts.
