Marine Operations Manager Role

As a Marine Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management of ship operations. This role involves managing and supervising teams to ensure seamless execution.

Responsibilities:
  • Effective Management: Oversee IMS functioning and continuously improve it by ensuring all safety superintendents are well-versed in ISM system principles.
  • Implementation: Implement necessary safety measures in coordination with the vessel's Master to maintain onboard standards.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and support operational responsibilities of Marine Superintendents/Executives.
  • Crew Resource Allocation: Manage crew resources based on vessel and operational requirements.
  • Communication: Monitor daily communications with vessels to evaluate operational needs.
  • Financial Oversight: Review vessel disbursement accounts and oversee related expenditures.
  • Reporting: Provide timely updates to vessel owners regarding any deviations or factors affecting charter performance.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential operational risks and enforce proper control measures onboard.
  • Audit and Compliance: Plan and manage internal audits to ensure maritime regulation compliance.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years' experience as a ship captain, along with at least 5 years of shore-based experience in marine superintendent roles.
  • Strong knowledge of international and domestic maritime laws, conventions, and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
