Cost Accounting Specialist

This is a role involving the conduct of cost of good manufacturing and inventory monthly closure, as well as analysis of actual costs versus standard costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Month-End Closing: Prepare and oversee the monthly close of cost of good manufacturing and inventory, analyzing actuals with forecasts and budgets.
  • Standard Cost Evaluation: Evaluate the difference between actual costs and standard costs.
  • Budget Coordination: Coordinate budget expenses with related departments and prepare analytical reports.
  • Compliance & Control: Ensure inventory accounting complies with Internal Control Policies, Accounting Standards (GAAP and IFRS).
  • Physical Inventory Check: Conduct and plan annual stocktaking with FAB and auditors to ensure physical inventory aligns with accounting books.
  • Audit Liaison: Liaise with internal/external auditors regarding operational or quarterly audits and address their queries.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously review and improve processes to increase efficiency and reduce operating costs.
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a professional accounting qualification.
  • Candidates with no prior experience may apply.
  • Independent, proactive individuals with a positive and hands-on attitude are required.
  • Oracle ERP knowledge would be an added advantage.
