Green Chemistry Initiative for Sustainable Materials

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to lead the development of innovative chemical transformations that valorise waste or surplus amino acids into value-added chemical building blocks.

This role is at the core of a green chemistry and circular bioeconomy initiative, targeting novel, scalable processes for converting protein-rich waste streams into useful intermediates and monomers for materials, pharmaceuticals, and specialty chemicals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive laboratory experimentation to develop novel chemical transformations for converting waste or surplus amino acids into value-added chemical building blocks.
  • Design and execute experiments to explore mechanistic pathways and optimize reaction conditions.
  • Generate and analyse data to support future patent filings and technology commercialization.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate new technologies and strategies into existing research programs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Expertise in green chemistry, process design, and optimization.
  • Strong experimental skills and experience with laboratory equipment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
