Role Overview

The role of the Animal Welfare Trainer is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of animal care and guest engagement. This position involves a blend of animal husbandry, training, and public presentation to foster a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional care, housing, and enrichment for animals in accordance with established welfare standards.
  • Monitor animal health and behavior, promptly reporting any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records related to animal care, including feeding, weights, and behavioral observations.
  • Assist in maintaining the facilities, reporting any necessary repairs.
  • Engage guests through high-quality animal presentations and interactive programs that promote conservation awareness.
  • Participate actively in live shows as a presenter or handler, ensuring a captivating experience for the audience.
  • Conduct training sessions with designated animals, adhering to set timelines for behavior completion.
  • Collaborate in the development of new animal behaviors and presentation concepts for educational programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum educational qualification of 'N' Level.
  • Preferred experience in animal care, veterinary practices, or public presentations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable presenting to audiences and interacting with animals.
  • Creative in contributing new ideas to enhance presentations.
  • Willingness to work during weekends and public holidays.

Individuals with extensive relevant experience may be considered for advanced roles within the organization.
