Pipefitter – VMF Welder/Fabricator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter – VMF Welder/Fabricator to join our team. As a Pipefitter – VMF Welder/Fabricator, you will be responsible for performing manual welding tasks on equipment and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accomplish manual welding tasks on equipment and construction projects
- Perform cutting, fitting, and welding of metal components, including plate, structural steel, and pipe
- Accomplish welding of various types of metals including mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum

Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current 6G weld certification at time of hire
- A minimum four years' experience in all phases of welding and fabrication
- Experience in an industrial or equipment repair environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with a wide variety of materials is highly preferred
- The ability to read and analyze shop drawings and blueprints is preferred
- Cold weather welding experience is preferred

Working Conditions:
- Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods
- Successful completion of Medical and Dental examinations required by the NSF for deployment to Antarctica
- Successful completion of drug screening and background check required by employer
- Successful completion of Federal Background Check required by the NSF

Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum as required by the position.

Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors in extreme cold as required by the position.
