">Job Description:
The role of a freelance Lao OPI/VRI interpreter is to facilitate communication between Lao/Laotian and English speakers in a remote setting. This involves interpreting information quickly and accurately, ensuring a quiet and secure environment. The interpreter should utilize tools such as note pads, writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries to maintain the highest level of accuracy.
">Required Skills and Qualifications:
Fluency in both English and Lao/Laotian languages
Minimum 2-year interpretation experience preferred
Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to ensure high accuracy
Able to render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocols, avoiding omissions or additions
Ability to explain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with client permission or request
