Senior System Infrastructure Specialist

Job Overview:

The role of a Senior System Infrastructure Specialist involves coordinating the patching and maintenance of server operating systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. This position requires strong technical expertise and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate system patching activities in accordance with agreed schedules.
  • Validate patches on common operating platforms to identify potential issues and ensure seamless integration.
  • Develop and implement compliance reports to identify required patches and maintain infrastructure software/hardware.
  • Participate in monthly patch review and schedule meetings to review vulnerabilities and prioritize patching activities.
  • Coordinate patching windows in compliance with change management and business requirements.
  • Post-patching reports and coordinate rollback activity due to patching issues.
  • Prioritize and schedule mutually agreed system patching and maintenance.
  • Coordinate infrastructure setup and support application infra needs.
  • Harden the infrastructure by implementing best-standard processes.
  • Maintain infrastructure software/hardware patch/upgrade and EOS/EOL components.
  • Provide preventive and proactive support to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
  • Manage incident, change, and problem management to ensure timely resolution and minimal disruption.

Required Technical Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in infrastructure patching and administration.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, DevOps, Linux, Unix, Wintel OS, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Networking (F5 GTM/LTM).
  • Strong understanding of server operating systems and patching process.
  • Excellent understanding of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products.
  • Experience in managing a team of 6-10 members.
