Job Title: Business Storyteller

Description:

We are seeking an experienced professional to generate high-quality business stories, deliver them on TV, and contribute to digital and social platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead India television storyteller to gather and develop news for on-air and digital platforms
  • Produce and report stories from the field
  • Write and contribute digital articles for publication on a prominent business website
  • Write clear and accurate news copy
  • Develop financial and business news knowledge
  • Contribute and develop story ideas and develop guests for business shows
  • Conduct live hits and conversations on business shows on subject matter expertise
  • Develop sources and generate independent reporting
  • Work closely with each member of the production team (TV, Digital and Social), news editors, other anchors, reporters and correspondents, and operations staff
  • Contribute to show planning, production, and execution, stepping in as needed
  • Work with newsroom management to drive daily editorial agenda for business shows
  • Work with the marketing department to promote the business network
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and over some weekends to cover breaking news, events, and other business needs
  • Willingness to travel overseas for reporting, often on short notice

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in business and/or financial news writing and reporting live, breaking news
  • Experience in presenting and adapting stories across multiple platforms
  • In-depth knowledge of business news, financial markets and global current affairs
  • Ability to handle deadline pressure and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficient in written and spoken English languages for writing and editing scripts
