Job Overview

The Assistant FP&A Manager will play a pivotal role in the financial operations of FairPrice Group. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis to support management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate monthly profit and loss (P&L) statements along with comprehensive financial presentation materials for executive review.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and synthesis of monthly financial results, presenting variances to relevant departments.
  • Deliver actionable insights that emphasize trends and discrepancies in essential performance metrics, encompassing revenue, cost of sales, operational expenses, and capital investments.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to facilitate accurate forecasting and budgeting processes, while also monitoring actual expenditures against established targets.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with various departments to ensure alignment between operational strategies and financial objectives.
  • Oversee the management of the master listing for Cost Centres and Chart of Accounts within SAP and Anaplan systems.
  • Track and report on significant CAPEX and OPEX expenditures, preparing projections for financial reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a Chartered Accountant (CA) designation or equivalent.
  • At least 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial planning & analysis.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, business insight, and strategic thought processes.
  • Previous experience in the Supply Chain or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skills, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP FI.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive approach to learning and customer service.
  • Ability to thrive in uncertain environments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
