We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Technology Educator to join our team at Careers@Gov. As a key member of our academic staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and training programs in animal care and veterinary technology.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Education: Develop and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practicals in full-time and part-time courses, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.
- Clinical Operations: Manage and perform day-to-day operations at TP Animal Clinic and Wellness (TPACW) on a rotating schedule, providing on-the-job training to new hires without clinical training with companion animals.
- Student Supervision: Train and supervise student trainees at TPACW, ensuring that they receive the necessary guidance and support to achieve their academic and professional goals.
- Industry Collaboration: Conduct and facilitate student-industry collaboration projects, fostering strong relationships between academia and industry.
- Administrative Duties: Carry out administrative duties to support academic and clinic operations, including managing resources and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Evening Classes: Be available to work at least 1 evening/week for CET night classes during semester time, ensuring that students receive the necessary support and guidance.
- Mentorship and Pastoral Care: Mentor students in character development and career readiness, providing pastoral care and support to ensure their overall well-being.
- Qualifications: A qualification in Biomedical Science/Life Sciences/Veterinary Technology/Veterinary Nursing or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of relevant industrial experience in a veterinary-related industry (e.g. animal research facilities, animal clinics/hospitals).
- Skills and Abilities: A passion for developing talents, a genuine interest in sharing knowledge and interacting with youths and adult learners, keen to be involved in applied research/industry projects, resourceful and able to work independently to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated capacity to work within a team.
