Job Overview
The Financial Controller Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the company's financial operations. This is a 6-month contract role, providing maternity cover for the team.
About the Role
This dynamic role involves various responsibilities, including processing vendor invoices and handling bank transactions. You will also assist with client billing, collections, and account updates, as well as prepare GST schedules, audit reports, and financial documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile vendor invoices and bank transactions to ensure timely payments.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to facilitate smooth financial workflows.
- Prepare and review financial statements, GST schedules, and audit reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Record monthly journal entries and maintain the fixed assets register.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with daily accounting tasks, such as data entry and reconciliations, as needed.
Requirements and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and software, including bank reconciliation.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
