Oracle Database Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing Oracle databases.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create and administer Oracle databases, including pluggable databases
  • Configure and administer Oracle Net Services
  • Create and manage database storage
  • Handle database migration
  • Manage automated maintenance tasks
  • Monitor and tune database performance
  • Manage Oracle database instances, including initialization parameters, and learn to start and stop databases as per operational requirements
  • Enforce database security by managing users, roles, privileges, and audit policies to protect data integrity and comply with security standards
  • Configure Oracle Net Services to facilitate communication with Oracle instances

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in Oracle Cloud and Oracle Database administration
  • Understanding of Oracle database architecture and administration
  • Familiarity with Oracle RAC and multitenant architecture
  • Oracle backup and recovery concepts using RMAN, datapump, and export/import
  • Knowledge of Oracle Cloud (OCI), Exadata, and Exadata (ExaCC)
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Good communication skills and a proactive learning attitude
  • Good in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and analytical tasks
  • Communication and coordination abilities are required, along with initiative and a sense of ownership
