Lead Financial Accountant

As a Lead Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing financial documentation and ensuring that all monetary transactions are accurately recorded. Your role will involve verifying the precision of entries in ledger accounts and reconciling subsidiary ledgers with the general ledger. You will prepare intricate balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and various financial reports. Additionally, you will evaluate current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to forecast future financial performance. You may also mentor junior accountants.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare journal entries, analyze accounts, generate statements, and assist the accounting manager with monthly closing processes and financial reports. Compile and assess financial data to create entries for accounts, including the general ledger, and document business transactions. Maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting and control protocols. Identify and rectify billing, inventory, costing, and other accounting discrepancies. Document processes and procedures, providing recommendations for enhancements. Conduct general ledger account reconciliations. Investigate and clarify general ledger account variances in relation to trends, budgets, and previous years. Monitor and review reports from accounting and related systems for accuracy and completeness. Prepare and evaluate budgets, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other financial documents. Analyze revenue and expenditure trends, recommending suitable budget levels and ensuring expenditure control. Communicate accounting policies to staff members. Recommend, develop, and maintain financial databases, software, and manual filing systems. Supervise the input and management of financial data and reports for the company’s automated financial systems. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audit processes.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory. A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience is required, with 5 years preferred. Knowledge of accounting theory and the application of principles and practices. Understanding of financial record-keeping and reporting principles and practices. Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial and statistical data. Proficiency in assembling and preparing data for reports. Strong office and computer skills are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Capability to prepare, examine, and verify financial reports. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships. Competence in researching and analyzing various types of information.
