Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is between $120,000 - $180,000.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor, lease, and partnership contracts, to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Ensure compliance with local and international laws, regulations, and industry standards, mitigating potential risks to the organization.
Manage intellectual property rights, including trademarks and copyrights, to safeguard the company's assets and reputation.
Provide legal advice on employment matters, consumer protection laws, and advertising guidelines, supporting business operations and decision-making processes.
Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks in business operations, ensuring a proactive approach to risk management.
Represent the company in legal proceedings, disputes, and negotiations, protecting the organization's interests and reputation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, marketing, and HR, to ensure alignment on legal strategies and goals.
Keep up-to-date with legal trends and regulatory changes impacting the retail industry, applying knowledge to inform business decisions and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) and active license to practice law.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate or commercial law, preferably in the retail or consumer goods industry.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, compliance regulations, and intellectual property rights.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
