About the Role

The Environmental Monitoring & Modelling Division (EMMD) is responsible for ensuring that air and water quality are effectively monitored. As a Senior Environmental Engineer, you will be part of the Modelling & Instrumentation Department (MID) and work closely with the Environmental Monitoring Instrumentation Branch to ensure the smooth operation of air and water quality monitoring equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the engineer in managing the current water quality monitoring stations, including preparing and calling of quotations and/or tenders and managing the performance of contractors.
  • Support the engineer in solving issues relating to the water quality monitoring stations.
  • Work with the engineer to design and implement the next generation water quality monitoring stations.
  • Provide technical support for the deployment of EMMD's air and water quality system, or for air and water quality sampling.
  • Assist in analyses of water or air quality data.
  • Work with the air and water quality monitoring branches on projects related to air and water quality monitoring.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Environmental/Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Preferably 5 years of working experience in modelling-related work.
  • Self-motivating and driven to learn, innovate and improve processes.
  • Demonstrate ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Good analytical and thinking skills, and demonstrate ability to solve problems and think out of the box.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
