Job Title: Lead Maintenance Operations Manager

The Lead Maintenance Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of the building meet the expectations of the owner and guests/tenants. This involves working closely with the Chief Engineer to implement and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery, equipment, and facilities.

• Assist the Chief Engineer in implementing and executing preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery, equipment, and facilities.
• Prepare and manage the duty roster of maintenance staff to ensure seamless execution of daily operations and engineering works.
• Conduct daily briefings with staff, assign duties, and ensure the proper execution of tasks.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in administrative duties such as inventory management, record-keeping, and other related tasks.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the engineering workshop and adhere to safety procedures and rules.
• Source quotations from external agencies/contractors and suppliers for all necessary works and purchases.
• Contribute towards cost management, eliminate wastage, negligence, or dishonesty, and assist in profits and losses costing and planning.
• Ensure the provision of high-standard engineering services that meet the expectations of the building owner, tenants, guests, and shoppers.
• Adequately deploy and train maintenance staff to discharge their roles effectively.
• Mentor, coach, and orientate new and existing staff in their roles and responsibilities.
• Assist in maintaining staff retention and take measures to further staff stability.
• Enforce effective fire safety, workplace safety practices, and local Health & Safety regulations.
• Ensure departmental compliance with authorities' requirements.
• Meet hotel management's satisfaction with the quality of services rendered by the Engineering department.
• Provide adequate levels of engineering services that satisfy guests' concerns and needs.
• Undertake additional duties assigned by the GM or Chief Engineer as needed.
• Participate in company sustainability efforts and promote an inclusive employer culture.

Candidate must possess a Polytechnic Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services or equivalent. Preferably with an Engineering Degree. Ability to deal with suppliers, contractors, and government bodies is essential.

• Manage various projects at any point in time.
• Exposure to purchasing and cost control beneficial.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, or computer for preparing reports.
• Sound knowledge of Hotel Engineering and Management.
• Sound knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Engineering.
• Skills in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building equipment.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written) and conflict resolution ability.
• Good coaching skills and leadership abilities.
• Willingness to learn and work as a team member.
