Job Description

We are seeking a skilled VMware Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining VMware vSphere environments, including vCenter, ESXi hosts, DRS, and HA configurations.

You will lead capacity planning initiatives to ensure optimal allocation of compute, storage, and memory resources across clusters. Your role will involve monitoring environment performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing proactive measures for optimization.

Additionally, you will forecast infrastructure needs and design scaling strategies to meet business and workload demands. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support workload planning and infrastructure design.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a VMware Administrator/Engineer.
  • Strong expertise in VMware vSphere suite (vCenter, ESXi, DRS, HA).
  • Proven experience in capacity planning, performance tuning, and resource optimization.
  • Hands-on with monitoring tools such as vRealize Operations Manager (vROps), RVTools, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with vSAN, VMware NSX, and PowerCLI scripting for automation.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure design, virtualization best practices, and workload management.
  • Experience in disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and high availability architectures.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to resolve performance, connectivity, and configuration issues.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

The following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • VMware certifications (e.g., VCP-DCV, VCAP, VCDX).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms integrated with VMware solutions.
  • Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS) and backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, etc.).
  • Familiarity with DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and automation frameworks.
  • Experience working in large-scale, enterprise IT environments.
