Ensuring Governance and Compliance through Effective Auditing.

This role involves providing assurance that an organization's governance, risk management, and internal controls are functioning as intended. The jobholder will support the Grant Audit Management team in conducting audits on grant recipients to ensure compliance with funding terms and conditions and proper utilization of funds.

A key aspect of this position is evaluating internal controls and processes to strengthen financial governance and mitigate risks. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders are essential.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conducting thorough audits on grant recipients to identify discrepancies or irregularities in grant usage
  • Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls related to grant management
  • Reviewing financial reports and documentation submitted by grant recipients for accuracy and completeness
  • Preparing detailed audit reports and presenting findings and recommendations on corrective actions
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to provide guidance on compliance and control measures

The ideal candidate will also be expected to support other assurance, compliance, and advisory activities as required by the organization.

Key Requirements:
  • Possessing the necessary competencies to execute the job duties proficiently
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in internal/external audit
  • Proficiency in using technology and tools to analyze and interpret data
  • Strong partnership and communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt to disruptions or new challenges

This role requires a strong understanding of audit frameworks, assurance, risk management, auditing, reliability, internal controls, and presentation skills.
