The role covers contract review across APAC and Japan (including contracts written in Japanese).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the workflow and contract review process for various contract types, starting from receipt of requests for contract generation through routing for signatures and final distribution.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving contracts management processes and systems as well as implementing and enforcing contract policies.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams during contract review, acting as a key contact for the legal department by providing guidance on commonly requested edits, non-standard terms, policies, questions, etc.
  • Review proposed modifications to contracts and work with internal business partners and third parties to negotiate terms and obtain approvals for modifications as required.
  • Draft and revise contract wording to address various situations as they arise.
  • Maintain processes between the legal department and other groups, collaborating to continually improve the contracts administration process.
  • Assist with legal review and response to requests for proposals (RFP/RFI/RFQ).
  • Complete assigned projects as determined by needs of the business and department.
  • Handle some compliance, regulatory, and/or internal policy matters.

About You

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience managing contracts (including drafting and negotiating preferably subscription/technology contracts) and contractual operations in a corporate environment.
  • Relevant experience in a legal setting, e.g., law firm.
  • Fluency in Japanese.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Any legal qualifications or studies, e.g., paralegal certification.

Other Qualifications
  • Able to review and negotiate documents such as NDAs with minimal guidance.
  • Able to draft amendments related to Order Forms and Subscription Agreements.
  • Has experience in handling compliance, regulatory, and/or internal policy matters.
  • Ability to follow written processes to ensure successful and correct completion of assigned work.
  • Ability to set priorities, be flexible, and handle multiple tasks, and to track and follow up on projects.
  • Detail-oriented, meticulous, and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable working collaboratively in a team environment with all levels of the company, including executive management and sales teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, shift focus, adapt to changing priorities, maintain patience in high-pressure situations, and take initiative where appropriate.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with a contract management system, i.e., SFDC, Apttus.
  • Experience with electronic signature software, i.e., AdobeSign (preferred), DocuSign.
  • Strong persuasive abilities, including outstanding influence and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-output, team-oriented, practical environment.
