Cardiac Technologist Job Description

The primary function of this role is to perform various medical imaging and diagnostic tasks.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Paediatric Cardiac Echocardiography and Fetal Echocardiography as required by the department's workload
  • Conduct 12 Lead- ECG, Holter and other monitoring modalities as directed by senior personnel
  • Undertake administrative duties inclusive of report typing, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely submission of reports
  • Be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of medical equipment and patient records in accordance with established protocols

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Support Clinical Operations:
  • Obtain, analyze and compare results from routine and complex cases accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain best practices and suggest improvements to clinical protocols to enhance overall efficiency and quality
  • Exercise sound judgment in making practical decisions in complex situations, taking into consideration downstream impact on the team and the department
  • Recognize potential conflicts and mitigate the situation internally before necessary escalation
  • Optimize resource utilization at a team level to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of learning objectives and teaching methods to support ongoing education and professional growth
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Highly developed technical skills and knowledge in the field of cardiac imaging and diagnostics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
