Job Overview

The Ministry of Health seeks a Legal Counsel to champion the development and implementation of policies that guide Singapore's healthcare ecosystem.

  • Formulate and implement policies that promote good health, reduce illnesses, and ensure access to affordable healthcare.
  • Work with a team to pursue medical excellence and improve the health and lives of Singaporeans.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing legal support to the Ministry across a broad spectrum of public health concerns, including healthcare finance, ageing, health technology, infrastructure, and sector regulation.
  • Advising on, drafting, and reviewing contracts, international agreements, organisational changes, disputes, statutory appeals, and judicial reviews.
  • Assisting policy divisions with the formulation and vetting of proposed legislation and providing advice on policy/operational matters with legal implications.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A tertiary education in law, qualified in Singapore.
  • Experience/expertise in a broad spectrum of legal work, including transactions, disputes, advisory, and prosecutorial matters.
  • Strong legal research, contract vetting, statutory interpretation, and drafting skills.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities to support the crafting of sound policy recommendations.
