Demanding Electronics Power Engineer Role
About the Job:We are seeking a skilled electronics power engineer to join our R&D team in Singapore. As an Electronics Power Specialist, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing cutting-edge power electronic converters for various applications.
Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and optimize power electronic circuits, including AC/DC, DC/DC converters, such as Totem-pole PFC, T-type, Vienna Rectifier, LLC, Buck, Boost, SR, Flyback, and other complex circuits.
You will also be responsible for performing calculations, simulations, and modeling using tools like LTspice, PSIM, Mathcad to optimize power converter performance.
- Select and evaluate power components such as Si/SiC/GaN MOSFETs, IGBTs, capacitors, resistors, magnetics for reliability and efficiency.
- Develop control algorithms for power converters and implement them on embedded platforms to enhance system performance.
- Conduct thermal and EMI/EMC tests and analysis to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineers to integrate power electronic systems.
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation of power electronic systems through documentation and test procedures.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, specialized in Power Electronics, with 2-5 years' experience in the same industry.
- Strong understanding of power electronics theory and applications to design and develop high-performance power converters.
- Proficiency in circuit design and simulation tools to optimize power converter performance.
- Experience with embedded systems and digital control of power converters to enhance system performance.
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards (UL, IEC, ISO) to ensure compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
