We seek a qualified individual to join our team as a Senior / Staff Nurse (Emergency) in a full-time or part-time capacity to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage each patient and determine priority of care based on assessment of physical, psychological and social needs.
- Perform focused patient assessments of chief complaints, medical histories and medications to ascertain history and medical condition in a timely manner and according to established triage guidelines.
- Provide safe and patient-centered care while observing patient comfort.
- Monitor patient assessments at regular intervals and document care and assessments accordingly.
- Assist clinicians during physical examinations, diagnostic testing and treatments of patients.
- Initiate corrective actions timely when patient's condition or information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
- Assist with CPR and other emergency treatments and stabilize patients' conditions in collaboration with physicians.
- Keep patients and their next of kin informed of care/treatment at appropriate stages of stay in the ED.
- Liaise with other units as necessary if patients require admission and further treatment.
- Accompany critically ill or emergency patients to other hospitals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Candidates must be registered with the nursing board.
- Diploma in Nursing or State Registered Nurse Certificate is required.
- A minimum of one year of inpatient ward experience as a Staff Nurse is necessary.
- Relevant Advanced Nursing Diploma or equivalent is preferred for candidates applying for Senior Staff Nurse positions.
