We are seeking a seasoned Event Manager - Sustainability Initiatives to join our team at the Global Compact Network Singapore.

About the Role:

  • This role is responsible for designing and executing high-impact events that promote sustainability initiatives, while driving sponsorship opportunities to support our mission.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong track record of creating memorable experiences that align with our organisational goals, through effective project management, creativity, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design overall event strategies for the organisation, including flagship events and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Lead the conceptualisation, planning, and execution of signature events, such as conferences, awards galas, and dialogues, ensuring seamless execution and exceeding expectations.
  • Curate engaging event programmes that highlight key sustainability themes and trends, featuring expert speakers and thought leaders.
  • Secure event sponsorships and grants by developing compelling packages and cultivating strong relationships with sponsors and partners.
  • Negotiate and compile sales contracts and agreements, demonstrating strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to oversee event logistics, registration, attendee engagement, and vendor management.
  • Support marketing efforts in preparing and designing sponsorship sales materials, showcasing the value proposition of our events.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess impact, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement, ensuring continuous growth and excellence.

Requirements & Attributes:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in events, marketing, and team management, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Good understanding of sustainability issues and the SDGs, with a keen interest in continuous learning and professional development.
  • Track record of initiating multilateral partnerships and maintaining positive relations with stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in crafting programme content for conferences and securing sponsorships or driving business development.
  • Strong communicator (written and verbal) with excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Organised and meticulous project manager with a positive work ethic and determination to achieve targets within tight deadlines.
