Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Calibration Executive to join our team at SGS TESTING & CONTROL SERVICES SINGAPORE PTE LTD. As a key member of our calibration team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in laboratory work scope expansion and development, ensuring the highest level of efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the team on laboratory work scope expansion and development.
  • Implement and manage Metcal systems to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Perform and manage in-house and onsite calibrations, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards.
  • Expand laboratory work scope for Dimensional and Mechanical fields, and maintain accreditation with Local Accreditation Bodies.
  • Arrange and perform preventive maintenance, in-service checks, inter-laboratory comparisons, and proficiency testing as per the planner.
  • Develop and improve calibration procedures, and prepare CMC calculations.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory Quality Management Systems, and ensure compliance with ISO 17025 standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the team on equipment failure, and provide technical advice to clients.
  • Participate in identifying new business opportunities and development.
  • Assist in annual Capex budget exercises, and assist with Capex justification for new or replaced equipment.
  • Listen and provide technical advice to clients, and assist in client audits.
  • Anticipate client needs, and offer the most suitable solution.
  • Operate to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS Statement of Integrity.
  • Liaise with clients on technical issues, and confirm calibration capability to the CS team for enquiries.
  • Maintain draft Calibration Certificate format/template.
  • Maintain good housekeeping at workstations/areas, and implement and maintain 5S activities.
  • Ask for more business while interacting with customers.
  • Always act in a friendly and reliable manner, and act upon client feedback.
  • Manage timely trouble shooting, and assist customers as necessary.
  • Build and foster collaboration with internal teams involved in service delivery.
  • Adopt a safe behavior, and exercise due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees and clients, in line with SGS policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by Senior Management.
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 7-10 years' experience in equipment measurement/calibration field.
  • Technical knowledge and experience in related field, and in using management methods and tools.
  • Able to work independently, and to coordinate several activities simultaneously.
  • Able to interact with all levels of management, suppliers, and clients.
  • Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Works well under pressure, challenges status quo.
  • Applies judgment, and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Knowledge of ISO systems and procedures.
  • Able to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goal.
  • Able to realize business opportunities in conformity to the business strategy.
  • Acts quickly and decisively, and able to make tough calls.
