Financial Operations Specialist

Job Summary

The role of Financial Operations Specialist involves overseeing financial operations to ensure sound financial management and effective support for business decision-making. This includes managing financial statements, budgeting, cash flow, statutory compliance, internal controls, and review of petty cash and bank reconciliations. The specialist will work closely with the Operations team and senior management to align financial planning with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of finance operations including accounting, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, treasury, and cash flow.
• Draft and prepare accurate financial statements and management reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlines.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes; partner with Operations and Centre Leaders to track and monitor financial performance against budgets.
• Review and monitor petty cash and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy, transparency, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, including GST, corporate tax, and other relevant filings.
• Strengthen and implement internal controls and financial policies across all entities and brands.
• Coordinate annual audits, liaising with external auditors and implementing audit recommendations.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Supervise and develop finance team members to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency in deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in finance or accounting, including at least 3 years of audit-related works, ideally within education, services, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of local statutory regulations and accounting standards.
• Hands-on experience in drafting financial statements, petty cash management, and bank reconciliation review.
• Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in accounting systems/ERP and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and commitment to compliance.

Location and Working Hours

• Location: On-site at Headquarters, Singapore
• Working Hours: Mondays to Fridays, 8:30am – 5:30pm
  Standard business hours with occasional additional hours as needed during peak reporting or audit periods.

Reporting Line

The Financial Operations Specialist reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
