Job Opportunity: Economics Teacher - Junior College

We are seeking an accomplished educator with a strong background in economics to join our team at the junior college level. This is a dynamic role that requires passion, dedication, and expertise in teaching students aged 13-18 years old.

About the Role:

  • This position involves planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons for four classes.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for catering to different learning needs of students through tailored pedagogy and assessments.
  • Evaluating student performance and providing constructive feedback is essential to this role.
  • Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment by monitoring social development and collaborating with parents is also key.
  • Fostering effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is crucial to meet the pastoral and cognitive needs of students.
  • Leading co-curricular activities and committees, as well as performing civics tutorship duties, are expected responsibilities.
  • Participating in departmental meetings, parents' teacher meetings, and school-wide training events is also required.

Requirements:

  • A good undergraduate degree in economics or a related discipline is mandatory.
  • A Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in education technology or data analytics would be an advantage.
  • Strong classroom and student management skills are necessary.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a genuine passion for teaching students in this age group.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
