Visual storytellers create engaging multimedia content to convey information and emotions. As a Visual Journalist, you will be responsible for crafting interactive visualizations that simplify complex data and enhance readers' understanding.

In this role, you will work closely with journalists and sub-editors to identify opportunities for data-driven storytelling and develop innovative graphics that capture the audience's attention.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the editorial team to understand the requirements and translate them into visually appealing designs
  • Utilizing data visualization tools to represent harvested data in an intuitive and user-friendly manner
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve and innovate interactive content
  • Conducting research alongside writers to find reliable data sources
  • Laying out pages in an engaging manner to enhance reader interaction

To succeed in this position, you should possess a degree or diploma in a relevant field, such as Visual Communications, and have at least two years of experience in data-driven journalism.

Familiarity with data visualization and interactive web design platforms is essential, as well as proficiency in English and Tamil languages.
