Job Title: Grocery Category Leader

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Grocery Category Leader who will be responsible for the sourcing, merchandising, and development of a grocery category. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the groceries industry and excellent stakeholder management skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth and profitability through key actions such as range management, supplier negotiation, campaign planning, and execution. They will also be expected to work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to develop new sourcing and extended range strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing and developing optimal category strategy, pricing, promotions, range, availability, and cost prices to improve category sales and margin.
  • Working with existing suppliers to negotiate supplier advertising spend and ensuring a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods to our fulfillment centre.
  • Partnering with Retail Operations team to manage inventory levels and wastage.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to develop new sourcing and extended range strategies.
  • Providing insights to leadership and employing data-driven decision making to achieve category objectives.
  • Working closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams to ensure RedMart delivers the best experience to our customers.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in retail industry, buying, merchandising, or category management.
  • Highly energetic, self-motivated, and proactive individual with a passion for e-commerce and groceries.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
  • Extreme attention to detail and follow-up actions, as well as a fast turn-around working style.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Highly analytical and comfortable with analyzing complex, large-scale data sets.
